Cookie policy
This page lists everything this website stores in your browser, what it is for and how long it stays. Only strictly necessary storage works without your consent. Everything else stays off until you agree, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use Cookie Settings in the footer. A change applies at once: optional measurement stops, and optional cookies and ids are deleted from your browser. You can also ask us to delete the statistics already stored about your browser. Withdrawal doesn't affect what was lawful before it.

Our own statistics
With analytics consent we record, in our own database, which pages were opened, how a visit came about (referrer and campaign tags), device type, browser, language and screen size. We never record what you type into a form. From your IP address we work out an approximate area (country, region, city), then discard the address without storing it. That area is an estimate: VPNs, proxies and mobile networks can place you elsewhere entirely. This data is pseudonymous, not anonymous. We don't fingerprint browsers, and refusing means you are not measured at all. Detailed events are deleted after 90 days and visit records after 14 months; only anonymous daily totals are kept longer.
Advertising
With your consent to marketing we note which ad network a visit came through (such as Google or Meta), recognised from the click id in the address. We don't store the click id itself. We don't currently use tags or pixels from Google, Meta or TikTok, and nothing goes to those companies. If we ever add them, we'll name them here and ask you again.
Security records
Separately from all of the above, and regardless of your cookie choice, our server keeps a security log of sign-ins, failed sign-ins and changes to accounts and orders. It exists to protect accounts and to meet our accountability duties, is open only to authorised staff, names customers only by number, holds IP addresses for 90 days, and is deleted after two years. On the registration page the Cloudflare Turnstile security check also loads; it is necessary there to stop automated sign-ups, and active nowhere else.
Legal basis
Mineralienzentrum GmbH, Bahnhofstrasse 62, 9424 Rheineck, Switzerland, is responsible for this site. The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies, and for visitors from the EU, EEA and UK also the GDPR and ePrivacy rules.
